Julie, a self taught Artist, came to the Dingle Peninsula in1994 on a course to learn the Irish Language and never left!
Inspired by the landscape and culture of this beautiful part of the world, Julie rekindled her interest in Art.In her most recent work, Julie has been exploring and developing different methods of creating textured effects, employing a variety of materials. In her work on flowers from her garden, Julie has attempted to re-create the fragility and delicacy of the flower petals and leaves and uses the 3D effect of the texture to illustrate the depth within.
She then paints in oil to further enhance and enrich the vibrancy of each flower, so that they become alive and continue to grow from the frame.
